As part of Fashion Revolution Week, Alessandra Rizzi in collaboration with Fair Bazaar developed a project with the aim of showing that sustainable fashion is much more fun than the general public perception. They joined several artists and brands to create an editorial with the concept "The cool side of sustainable fashion". This editorial was carried out at the Quinta da Marinha Onyria Hotel, in a special and unique context where nature and tranquillity merge. More than 15 sustainable brands were selected with the purpose of showing that there are many sustainable options in the market and that fashion itself is also an attitude that depends on us and our choices.
Fashion Revolution emerged after the collapse of the Rana Plaza garment factory in Bangladesh on April 24th, 2013, which killed 1138 people and injured 2500 others. Over the years, Fashion Revolution has become a global movement, pushing the fashion industry to be more transparent and responsible.
Manifesto
Being sustainable in fashion doesn't have to be boring, and can even be quite sexy and fun. We want to be free! We want to be free from stereotypes and everything that is not right on this planet. We want colour and fun to be welcome in this most planet-friendly world. We want to be the voice that speaks without fear and unites us without any kind of repression.
The pandemic has shown us (even more) the importance of the feeling of community and mutual help, and this project is proof that when collaboration exists, positive results can be achieved.
Join this global movement, be part of the revolution and contribute to a more conscious fashion!
